Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. When she was five, she relocated from London to Oxfordshire where she studied at the Dragon School. Emma was aspired to become a professional actor from the age of six. She was enrolled at Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford, an acting institute with part-time courses. At the age of 10, Emma had taken part in a variety of Stagecoach productions and plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000), the film adaptation of J.K. Rowlings bestselling novel was first cast for the very first time back in the year 1999. Emma was discovered by agents through the recommendation of her Oxford teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone and Ron Weasley told Emma after eight auditions that she had been chosen for these roles. She was cast alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's first film appearance coincided with the release Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). It was also the most successful film of 2001. Opening days and weekends of sales were record-breaking. It was highly acclaimed by critics, as were the performance of three young starlets. The Daily Telegraph, a well-read British publication, has praised Emma for her exceptional performance. Emma received five nominations for her impressive performance. In the end, she received the Young Artist Award in Leading Young Actress of the Film.
